Essential Field Validation

Essential Field Validation includes basic yet crucial validation settings that ensure users provide necessary information in a form. The most common example is setting a field as required and displaying an error message if the field is left empty.

How to make a Field Required
There are 2 ways to make a field required.
Option 1 - Editing the Field
  1. Edit the field by hovering over it and then click on the Edit Icon which will bring up the field settings panel.

  2. Click on the "VALIDATION" tab from the settings panel.

  3. Enable the field validation by setting the field to be required.

Option 2 - Using the Right Click Context Menu
  1. Hover over the field and Right Click on your mouse.
  2. This will bring up the field's Context Menu options.

  3. Click on "Set As Required"

How to setup a required field's error message
This message will be displayed to users if they attempt to submit the form without completing the required field.
  1. Edit the field by hovering over it and then click on the Edit Icon which will bring up the field settings panel.

  2. Click on the "VALIDATION" tab from the settings panel.

  3. Change the field's required error message.

  4. NOTE: The default "required message" is pulled from your Field Validation Error Message Presets

Setting Definition Example
Error Style
 Modern Sets the validation error message to a modern tooltip hover. This is the default.
    _   Classic Sets the validation error message to the classic style.
Required
Error Position
 Left Sets the error message to the left of the input field.
 Right Sets the error message to the right of the input field. This is the default.
