Creating a Popup Form

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to use the NEX-Forms shortcode to display a form as a popup on your WordPress site. How to Generate a Popup Shortcode
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.

  4. Copy the POPUP tab. You will notice settings to the right hand side wich will be covered further down in this article.

  5. Copy the NEX-Forms POPUP shortcode.

  6. Create or edit your existing WP Page.
  7. Paste the NEX-Forms popup shortcode into your page where you need the form popup button to be displayed.
  8. Publish/Update your WordPress page.
Popup Triggers
Any form can be made into a popup form. The only difference is where a form in embedded into your page content or a form gets popped up from a number of different triggers. These triggers will be covered in this article.

Using a Popup Button Trigger
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.
  4. Copy the POPUP tab.
  5. Click on the Popup Button Trigger.

  6. Setup the popup button to your needs by using the settings as explained below.
  7. After setting up your popup button copy the generated NEX-Forms POPUP shortcode.
  8. Paste the NEX-Forms popup shortcode into your page or post where you need the form popup button to be displayed.

Setting Function
Button Text Sets the text inside the button.
Button Color Choose from over 20 preset Material Design and Bootstrap Button Colors.
Using a Popup Link Trigger
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.
  4. Copy the POPUP tab.
  5. Click on the Popup Link Trigger.

  6. Setup the link to your needs by using the settings as explained below.
  7. After setting up your popup link copy the generated NEX-Forms POPUP shortcode.
  8. Paste the NEX-Forms popup shortcode into your page or post where you need the form popup link to be displayed.

Using a Custom Element Popup Trigger
Any form can be set to pop up from any element on your website, whether it’s a navigation item, image, icon, or any other HTML element. Simply use the element’s unique ID or class name to seamlessly trigger the form popup, providing flexibility and customization for your user interactions.
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.
  4. Copy the POPUP tab.
  5. Click on the Custom Element Trigger.

  6. Enter your elements (HTML object) classname or id.

  7. Copy the generated NEX-Forms POPUP shortcode.
  8. Paste the NEX-Forms popup shortcode anywhere into your page or post that contains the element classname or id provided.
Using Auto-Timed Popup Forms
An auto-timed form popup will popup automatically after a specified time have passed by. This section will give you step by step instructions on setting up an auto-timed popup form.
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.
  4. Copy the POPUP tab.
  5. Click on the Custom Element Trigger.

  6. Enter the number of seconds until the popup should be triggered after the page have loaded.
    In the example below the form will popup 15 seconds after the page have loaded.

  7. Copy the generated NEX-Forms POPUP shortcode.
  8. Paste the NEX-Forms popup shortcode anywhere into your page or post.
Using a Scroll Position Popup Trigger
Scroll position popup forms will be triggered once a user have scrolled the specified number of pixels from the top of the page. This section will give you step by step instructions on setting up an scroll position popup form
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.
  4. Copy the POPUP tab.
  5. Click on the Scroll Position Trigger.

  6. Enter the number of pixels the user needs to scroll from the top of the page until the form popup is triggered.
    In the example below the form will popup after the user scrolled down the page a dept of 500px.

  7. Copy the generated NEX-Forms POPUP shortcode.
  8. Paste the NEX-Forms popup shortcode anywhere into your page or post.
Using Exit Intent Popup Trigger
Exit Intent popup forms will be triggered once a user tries to leave your webpage. This section will give you step by step instructions on setting up an exit intent popup form.
  1. Log into your Wordpress Admin area.
  2. Edit or create a new form.
  3. Click on "EMBED" from main menu.
  4. Copy the POPUP tab.
  5. Click on the Exit Intent Trigger.
