DragBox Selection

DragBox selection is a powerful feature in the NEX-Forms Builder that allows you to quickly and efficiently select multiple form elements at once. This tool enhances your ability to manage and manipulate your form fields, making the form-building process more intuitive and streamlined.

How to make a DragBox Selection
  1. Activation:
    To activate DragBox selection, simply click and hold the left mouse button anywhere on the form canvas area.
  2. Drawing the Selection Box:
    While holding down the right or left mouse button, drag the cursor to draw a rectangular selection box around the form elements you wish to select. Any elements within the boundaries of this box will be selected.

  3. Multiple Element Selection:
    As you drag and expand the selection box, multiple form elements (fields, grids, buttons, etc.) that fall within the box will be selected as soon as you release the mouse button. These fields will be highlighted to indicate they are selected.

  4. Move, edit or delete the entire selection.
Manipulating a DragBox Selection
Once a DragBox Selection have been made, you can perform various actions on these selected elements as a group.
  1. Move:
    Drag the selected group to a new location on the form canvas.
  2. Edit:
    Right Click on the selection to bring up the NEX-Forms Context Menu. Choose any of the editing options.

  3. Style:
    Apply styling changes, such as margins, padding, or colors, to the entire group. Keyboard Shortcup = Enter
  4. Delete:
    Remove all selected elements from the form in one action. Keyboard Shortcup = Delete
Tips for Using DragBox Selection:
  • Zoom:
    Use the zoom feature to get a better view of your form canvas, making it easier to select the desired elements.
  • Deselect:
    To deselect elements, click outside the selection box or use the ESC key.
  • Combining Selections:
    You can combine DragBox selection with batch field selection for even more efficient multi-element management. Use DragBox to select a group, then hold CTRL to add or remove specific elements from the selection.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts:
    Enhance productivity by combining DragBox selection with keyboard shortcuts for common actions like copying (CTRL+C), cutting (CTRL+X), pasting (CTRL+V), and deleting (Delete) groupd of elements.
